AZADI!
On 28.04.23 we had a programme for our local Eid mela at Arunday club, North mill. Together with our community, we celebrated Eid and all that is important to us. The programme was built around thoughtful messages from our staff about the meaning of Eid, gender equality, our work as an NGO and even a short speech in Bengali from our German volunteers.
Some activities of our programme included a pictorial of our organisation’s history and current programmes. Our youth showed off their talents through dance from DMT group and younger students, as well as a powerful karate performance. We also had a drama about gender equality, female empowerment and right to education by our Bhabiswat students. The audience had fun through an interactive quiz about India with cool prizes!
Lastly, we shared moving slogans, where we called upon society for freedom (azadi) from patriarchy, hierarchy, gender inequality and more. Overall this was a very successful event and many thanks to everyone who made it possible.
