Case 2

Maksura Begum is not different from many other girls who are facing challenges in accessing school because of financial and social reasons. She attended the Health Camp in Madhabpur Primary School along with other girls from the localities. The project team members noticed –  while discussing with her – that she has stopped attending school because of financial problems in the family. However, she had the desire to study further and become selfreliant in her life.

After many discussions with the parents during the project team members home visits, it came to notice that the families financial crisis is the barrier in her studies. Still, the parents could manage the situation with their little income. After 4 home visits her parents agreed to bear some amount for her study and agreed to restrain from arranging her marriage. 10 days after the meeting, the parents admitted Maksura in Dhekua Farukia High Madrasah (H.S.) in a vocational course. She is very happy to get back to school and continuing her studies regularly.
