On the 18th of March 2023, Nari-O-Sishu Kalyan Kendra celebrated its annual sports day. The day was filled with lots of very fun activities for both the youngest and the oldest members of our organisation. The age of the participants ranged from four up to 50 years old.

We held eleven competitions on this day and postponed other planned activities to the upcoming Saturday, the 25th March, due to heavy rainfall. 

The children took part in many different races such as 100m, balloon popping, frog, three legged, bowl and a potato race. For the attendees who don´t enjoy running a thread and needle race was organised. The participants of this game proved patience, when they successfully tried to pull the thread through the needle as fast as possible. The students were also intellectually challenged in a math race, where they solved equations as fast as possible. After all the races were completed, 40 youths had a great time playing musical chairs.

Following an awards ceremony, for all the winners, the children ran back home, to participate in our last game: the go as you like game. The students dressed up as a lot of different people, including teachers, athletes and a five year old Indian chief minister. 

After all the youth went home, the staff also got to have their very own little competition. Fifteen candles were lined up on the floor to see who could light the most candles before their match stopped burning. 

Each of the races had over 20 participants and everyone present was encouraged to dress up for the go as you like game. The day was a huge success. The adolescents were not faced by the rain at all and were motivated each time a new game was introduced.
